The well-known Pembrokeshire motoring company W P Lewis and Son (Neyland) Ltd is celebrating 20 years in business. Opened in July 1995, by the late Lord Gordon Parry and Cllr Fred Knapp, then deputy mayor of Neyland, it was originally a Nissan dealership and known as W P Lewis (Nissan) Ltd.
The company was set up by W P Lewis and Stuart Lewis with John Marchant in place as manager. The site, at Havenbridge Road, had a petrol forecourt up to 2005, before it was sadly closed. The old tanks were removed earlier this year.
The company ceased to be a Nissan franchise in November 2006, but continues do specialise in Nissan and Vauxhall used cars. Today, the company directors ar Mrs Margaret Lewis, Stuart’s widow, and her nephew Steve Lloyd.
Margaret worked at Neyland upon opening and oversaw its early development. After John Marchant retired in September 2005, Steve went on to run the company and still spends time every day at the Neyland site helping the teams. Steve clocked up 28 years with the company on July 1st.
Margaret, Steve and family describe their staff as “a hard-working, loyal bunch who strive to the company motto of ‘Our reputation is your guarantee’.” They thanked the staff for their continued support and efforts to keep the company at the standards achieved.
